The Graphing Calculator Story

Ron Avitzur was working as a contractor for Apple on the application Graphic Calculator before the release of the PowerPC computers. It was intended to show off the PPC chip’s capabilities. When his project got canceled, we writes:

"I was frustrated by all the wasted effort, so I decided to uncancel my small part of the project. I had been paid to do a job, and I wanted to finish it. My electronic badge still opened Apple’s doors, so I just kept showing up."

It’s a good read. full story: The Graphing Calculator Story.

Wow! what a bonus. Shortly after putting this post up, one of my favorite NPR programs, This American Life from WBEZ interviewed the graphing calculator guy and told the story of how he just kept showing up at work trying to finish his canceled project.
