I received notice of a class action settlement against Apple Computer for faulty and failing PowerBook and iBook power adapters this week. The settlement offers $35 for adapters which failed within the first two years of ownership, and $20 for adapters which failed in the third year, and/or certificates good for use at Apple’s online store on products valued at $65 or more.

The settlement covers Apple laptops sold between 10/1998 and 05/2001, including the following models: PowerBook G3 (firewire), iBook, iBook (firewire), PowerBook G3 Series and PowerBook G3 Bronze Keyboard.
